The Chester County Planning Commission is responsible for reviewing plans and ordinances per the requirements of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, Pennsylvania Code, and some federal or state agency regulations.

The Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (Act 247) requires Chester County Planning Commission review of all subdivision and land development proposals prior to municipal action.
