To Celebrate America's 250th in Chester County — Be Part of the Greatest American Cleanup
February 2026
Keep Chester County Beautiful (KCCB) is leading a countywide effort to rally residents, volunteers, and local organizations in a coordinated beautification campaign to honor our nation's 250th anniversary year.
Chester County has set an ambitious goal: 50 volunteer groups participating in cleanup and beautification activities by the end of 2026! From roadways and parks to waterways, public spaces, and historically significant sites, these efforts will shine a spotlight on the places that define Chester County's character and heritage.
The idea is simple: pick a place you care about and help make it cleaner, safer, and more welcoming — not just for residents and visitors in 2026, but for years to come.
Here are a few ways to get started:
- Gather a group and choose an area that could use some love — it could be a roadway, park, or even a local heritage site.
- Make it official by adopting your chosen area though programs like PennDOT's Adopt-A-Highway or Keep PA Beautiful (Bonus: cleanups held between March 1 and May 31 will qualify for free supplies through Keep PA Beautiful!).
- Join an existing cleanup already happening around the county — there are plenty to choose from (Follow KCCB on social media and visit Keep PA Beautiful's Events Calendar to stay in the loop).
