Protected Open Space Continues to Grow in Chester County

In 2025, the county added 1,385 acres of newly protected land, bringing the total to 156,566 acres — about 32.2% of all land in Chester County. At the end of 2024, that number was 31.9% — an increase of 0.3%. Learn more about protected open space in 2025.

2026 Town Tours and Village Walks Program Expands in Honor of Nation's 250th

The Chester County Commissioners are pleased to announce the return of the popular Town Tours and Village Walks program, which has been expanded this year in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States. Now entering its 32nd season, the program will kick off at the Chester County Historic Courthouse on Thursday, April 30, and conclude on October 15.
