Meet CCPC's Summer Interns

Posted August 12, 2025

We're excited to introduce CCPC's summer interns: Jack Warner and Safira Juarez. Both bring unique skills, interests, and enthusiasm to their work, and have already jumped into a variety of projects!

Jack has been busy this summer working within CCPC's Community Planning Division. Some projects he's been involved with so far include updating this year's earnings report, conducting site suitability analyses, and assisting with the Oxford Regional Comprehensive Plan.

Jack

A lifelong resident of West Chester, Jack's journey to CCPC began by searching for local planning commissions. Once discovering CCPC was right in his hometown, he reached out to see how he could get involved!

Jack hopes to gain valuable experience from CCPC staff to help prepare for his future career — while also earning credits toward his college degree. Outside of work, you're likely to find him hiking, playing rugby (which he's spent 11 of his 22 years doing), or enjoying any activity that gets him outdoors.

Jack's loyalty lies within West Chester, calling it his favorite place thanks to the vibrant nightlife, great food scene, and plenty of shops and boutiques to explore.

A favorite quote of Jack's is from Uncle Iroh in Avatar: The Last Airbender: "Sometimes life is like this dark tunnel. You can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you just keep moving… you will come to a better place."

Safira has also been busy working on several projects this summer! Since starting her internship within CCPC's Sustainability Division, she's been involved with a memo on sustainability reporting, evaluating goals and objectives from Chester County's Climate Action Plan, and most recently, she's been developing a year-round event calendar that can be used to promote key dates and celebrations through CCPC's social media.

Safira

Safira's path to CCPC began when her mom happened to stop by our booth at the Sustainability Summit, leading Safira to send in her resume. As a strong believer in the benefits of being well rounded, Safira's main goal is to explore and get a sense of the work done at CCPC and how each discipline supports the whole. "I want to diversify my knowledge and experiences to find ways to connect back to my academic education," she adds.

Born in New York City and raised in Malvern, Safira loves the community she calls home. Some of her favorite Chester County spots include the Malvern Borough Buttery, Highland Orchards, Marsh Creek, local farmers markets, and West Chester's vibrant nightlife. Outside of work, she might be at the gym, gaming with friends, or spending time in King of Prussia or West Chester.

Safira is a second-degree black belt in karate, and credits taking a martial art to helping her develop confidence, leadership, and appreciation for any form of physical sport or art. She started when she was just four years old!

And lastly, Safira lives by a favorite quote from Captain Cold in The Flash: "Make the plan, execute the plan, expect the plan to go off the rails… throw away the plan."

We're grateful to have both Jack and Safira on CCPC's team this summer and we look forward to seeing how their talents and perspectives help shape CCPC's work!
