Chester County's 2022 Open Space Summit and Preserved Farm Tours

Open Space Summit
To commemorate and celebrate Chester County's 30 percent milestone of protected open space, and to share information on the focus for open space preservation in the future, please join the Chester County Commissioners, along with the County's Planning Commission and Department of Parks + Preservation for the 2022 Open Space Summit on Tuesday, May 10!
4:00 p.m. — Meet local conservation and agricultural organizations
5:00 p.m. — Remarks by the Chester County Commissioners and PA Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding on Chester County's agriculture industry and the importance of agricultural preservation. Other presentations will highlight regenerative agriculture, Chester County's open space preservation efforts in 2021, and the history of Springton Manor Farm.
6:00 p.m. — Tours of Springton Manor Park and Chester County Food Bank's gardens
Bucktown Grille will be on-site during the event with a variety of delicious food options to purchase - so be sure to come hungry!
If you are unable to attend the event in person, the presentations will be livestreamed via Zoom beginning at 5:00 p.m. and concluding at 6:00 p.m. Please note that this is a viewing event only, and no interactions such as Q&A will take place. Guided Farm Tours
Additionally, the county will be offering tours of preserved farms in May. The tours are intended to showcase the variety of preserved farms and farm products in Chester County, and to give residents a unique opportunity to visit agricultural lands and learn about the value of agricultural preservation. They include:
Saturday 5/7 — Katt and Mathy Farms in Landenberg
Saturday 5/7 — 1723 Vineyards in Kemblesville
Wednesday 5/11 — Agriculture Trials at the Stroud Preserve
Saturday 5/14 — Milky Way Farm in Chester Springs — SOLD OUT! Join the waitlist.

The farm tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be sure to register ASAP if you would like to attend a tour.
