Bikes (and More!): Chester County's Active Transportation Plan for Public Rights of Way
About the Plan
Chester County contains over 2,500 miles of roadway, with only a few of those miles being improved to accommodate bicycles and other mobility devices. This plan will serve as both a policy document and a guide for Chester County municipalities to identify future networks of on-street facilities that will safely connect riders of all ages and abilities to town centers, businesses, trails, recreation areas, and other community destinations. The plan will address e-mobility options & polices, safety, education, design standards, maintenance, and budgetary requirements toward implementation of these active transportation facilities.
Plan Schedule
The plan's inventory and analysis phase will be completed mid to late summer with conceptual plans being developed this Fall. Completion and promotion of the plan will take place early to mid-2027. An online, public kickoff meeting will be scheduled for mid-June.
